Transitions are never easy. On the front of this newsletter you read about Craig announcing his resignation as Minister of Music and Youth and accepting a call to a church in North Carolina. This transition is not easy for Craig and his family, nor is it easy for us.
For sixteen years Craig has served our church. Many of you have some special memory of a moment, a program, or some blessing be brought to your life. You have watched the McCoy children grow into young adults. I have had the privilege of serving with Craig for almost five years. I, like you, have been blessed by his and Robin’s gifts and talents.
Saying “good-byes” is never easy. When a church staff member leaves, you sometimes find yourself feeling hurt, discouraged, angry, and sometimes with many questions of why. We wonder what we are going to do. But let me encourage you to pray for Craig and his family. It is often not easy to follow God’s will. And moving to a new community, while it brings excitement, also brings certain fears and uncertainties. Do pray for Craig and his family as they make this transition.
Use these next weeks to share with the McCoy’s what they have meant to you. Our prayers are with them, and we pray God’s blessings upon each of them in this new adventure! And I hope there are no Hatfield’s in North Carolina!
Your Pastor, Dennis
